Festival ?Giraffe?Mass Media? unites young amateurs of journalism from different cities and the countries. A lot of them wants to show themselves and exchange with others of their impressions, but not everybody knows, how to do it. We decided to understand, what questions are the most interesting for participants and visitors of our festival.

A big ?flow? of young journalists who want to participate in the third third International school and student mass-media festival ?Giraffe?Mass Media? is expected this year. Entries were sent by participants from Vladivostok, Tobolsk, Tyumen, Katav-Ivanovsk, Zlatoyst and Lugansk. And it is only the beginning!

Nevertheless, the information of the festival could be found on a site http://jiraf-smi.susu.ac.ru/eng/ or in the General condition which can be downloaded from sites of university and journalism faculty, a lot of interested persons want to ask some questions to organizers. Members of organization committee Olga Maruseeva, the senior editor of Broadcasting Company ?SUSU-TV?, and Ophelia Miribyan, specializes in educational and methodical work of the Department of Journalism Department of Mass Media of faculty of journalism are agreed to answer for our question.

? What questions are asked more often?

Ophelia Miribyan: Most questions are similar: where, what time and how event happen, where the visitors will be occupied, what documents for participation are needed to give and others.

Olga Maruseeva: Answers to these and similar questions are in General condition of the festival, we do not inform people anything new. It is important, that everybody who is interested in festival, learns given information, but of course we will  answer any distinctive questions for sure.

? What questions are the most popular?

Olga: The question about the possibility to participate in all competitions and nominations.

? And it is possible?

Olga: Yes, of course, every participant can present one by one original work on each competition and nomination. The only thing ? at the festival he or she  should chose, in what of competitions they will participate as all five competitions will pass in at the same time.

Ophelia: You can also send works for competition and printing materials for exhibition ,which will be run during the festival.

? And what kind of works is it necessary to send?

Olga: This is one of the most popular questions. TV and radio materials must be recorded and sent by post. The main thing is not to forget to mark the disc with Name , Surname, city, place of studying and position of participant as well as name of his project, timing of the work, type and his nomination. If one participant sends two works with different nominations, they must be written on sepparate CDs to prevent organizators from mistakes during the review.

To participate in a competition ?Fluent pen? and ?Inet? you may send works on e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it in document Word form with a mark ?Festival ?Giraffe-mass media??. The text must show who is the sender and what nomination he wishes to take part in.

Ophelia: It's very important that all the projects must be in the original! So that if the work was sent be email ? on a festival it must be in the original ? published in media. According to that requirement, you can send even real projects by post instead of bringing it with you. Moreover, it confirms that the work is not  fake.

?Are there any problems with applications and materials, got by the organizer commitee?

Olga: Sadly, many applications are written in a very free manner. That is a really uncomfortable because of a loss of some private information, strongly required for organizers. In one of the parts of Regulations of festival as wall as on our web page there is a sample of correctly filled form of an application and we reccomend our participants to fill all the papers identically! Otherwise members will be in a trouble with a miss of some quite important information. For example, if one of the members doesn?t inform us that he needs a hostel, he won't have any free place because he just wasn't listed in time.

Ophelia: Some materials don't match the standarts, pointed in a Competition Rules, ? for example, some participants don't marks CD's with their works in. In this case, according to conditions of the festival, organising committee won't even review the work.

? What will you advise for all, who wish to attend to ?Giraffe-mass media??

Ofelia: We would strongly advise everyone, who wish to take part in the festival to look through all the conditions carefully.
